A dimeric calixarene, with an aliphatic C6‐bridge and six anilinium head groups at its upper rim, preferably complexes diphosphates and oligonucleotides with more than 10 bonds between both anionic moieties. Free binding energies correlate with the length of the aliphatic bridge in a roughly linear fashion. The binding event, which is monitored by fluorescence titrations and competition experiments, relies on Coulomb interactions, as opposed to a nonpolar variant with tert‐butyl instead of ammonium groups; here, hydrophobic forces prevail, rendering the calixarene dimer selective for less polar cofactors such as FAD. The best guest for the hexaanilinium dimer is found in ssDNA, which carries multiple copies of the optimal trinucleotide for maximum attraction towards the extended cationic host. The recognition event is also observed in the environment of a lipid monolayer, and provides a means to quantify dimer diphosphate interactions by measuring p/A shifts. 相似文献

The gold nanoparticles in diameter of 10-95 nm have been prepared by Frens procedure, all of which exhibit a resonance scattering peak at 580 nm. The mechanism of resonance scattering for gold nanoparticle has been considered according to the wave motion theory of nanoparticle in liquid. The principle of superamolecular interface energy band(SIEB) has been set up and utilized to explain the relationship between the diameter and colors for gold nanoparticle in liquid. A novel spectrophotometric ruler for the determination of the diameter has been proposed according to the relationship of the maximum absorption wavelength and diameter. 相似文献

AbstractOn complete Riemannian manifolds, a geodesic linking two different points could be approximated by applying short ruler methods to shorten a given path iteratively. In this paper we take a closer look at a short ruler method on a cone. To handle the problems caused by the fact that the cone is not smooth at its apex, we unwind the cone isometrically into the plane, and show that the sequence of shortened curves converges to a geodesic. 相似文献

We study the prospects of using the low-redshift and high-redshift black hole shadows as new cosmological standard rulers for measuring cosmological parameters.We show that,using the low-redshift observation of the black hole shadow of M87?,the Hubble constant can be independently determined with a precision of about 13%as H0=70±9 km s?1 Mpc?1.The high-redshift observations of super-massive black hole shadows may accurately determine a combination of parameters H0 andΩm,and we show by a simple simulation that combining them with the type Ia supernovae observations would give precise measurements of the cosmological parameters. 相似文献
